In The US:
- Every three minutes a woman is raped.
- 400, 000 teenage girls will become mothers and raise their
babies without the help of the men who fathered them.
- Approximately one in every three girls is sexually abused
before she grows into maturity
Worldwide:
- Half of all women worldwide have been victims of domestic
violence
- 70% of the world's illiterate are female
- 450 million women are physically impaired due to childhood
malnutrition. (in many cultures, girls and their mothers eat only
after the men and boys are fed)
- 70% of the 1.3 billion living in poverty are women
- Every day 6,000 girls are genitally mutilated
- Every six hours one woman in India is killed or commits
suicide because her marriage dowry is considered insufficient
- Approximately 2.5 million females a year are forced or tricked
into joining the slavery and prostitution industry in various
countries. Many of these girls are as young as five
- At least 100 million little girls are missing in today's
generation. In India and China abortions are routine when it is
learned the mother is carrying a girl.
